Effective Learning in the Digital Education Space

Abstract:

Today, no one doubts the need to introduce online resources in the educational process. Analysis of foreign trends shows that the leading educational institutions are increasingly saying that "it is absolutely useless to compete with MOOC universities" and the format of blended learning can become (and is already becoming) the future of higher education. Despite the fact that the concept of "blended learning" is already a well-established term, the model of its implementation may be different. Quite often they talk about the model of the inverted class, when the material is studied independently, remotely, and discussion, analysis of complex topics, examples, takes place in the audience. The practice of implementing online resources in the educational process of our University allows us to say that the format of "compulsory" study of online disciplines and "conditionally compulsory" dictates different approaches to the implementation of the model of blended learning, to the definition of motivating factors of learning, as well as requirements for the volume and form of presentation. The challenges of today are the uncertainty concerning the trends of education development, the mass characterization associated with the fact that the majority of school graduates seek to obtain a bachelor's degree and the requirements of individualization of the educational trajectory with the mandatory development of self-development competencies, the ability to learn independently. In these conditions, online resources become an integral, irreplaceable and highly demanded part of the educational process. However, their integration into the educational process is a very multifaceted task. The article describes the experience of SPbPU in building an effective educational trajectory in the conditions of universal digitalization. The authors share their experience of introducing mass open online courses in the traditional educational process. The main stages of the implementation of online courses and the complexity of each practice are analyzed. The motivation of students for different practices is studied.
