Abstract:

Japanese Candlesticks can be difficult for traders and investors to master since there are so many types of candles and patterns to learn and memorize. Many applications that teach Japanese candlesticks do not have sufficient exercise for traders and investors to practice.  There is lack of dedicate platforms for traders and investors to learn the pattern of Japanese candlesticks in many learning apps. This paper discusses the development of interactive simulator in an app called Japanese Candlestick Learning Simulator to learn the Japanese candlestick chart pattern. The two styles of interactive simulation to learn this candlestick chart are called Drag and Drop and Pattern Naming. The system framework and its processing are presented. Testing and evaluation of the app showed evidence of effectiveness when experiencing the two styles of learning simulators. The effectiveness of simulators and how it can be used to assist traders and investors to learn stock market trends and price movement are discussed.
