Abstract:
There are an increasing number of women entrepreneurs in Malaysia. Indeed, many of these women entrepreneurs had succeeded in their businesses. In addition, previous studies had shown that personality traits are associated with success of entrepreneurs. Therefore, this paper aims to discuss the effects of personality traits on entrepreneurial success of Malaysian women entrepreneurs. The literature suggests that traits such as need for achievement, internal locus of control and risk-taking propensity have significant influence on business success. This study will develop a theoretical framework to present significant factors which contribute to the success of women entrepreneurs in Malaysia.
