Abstract:
Nowadays, there are many discussions about high expenditure and low quality of higher education in the Czech Republic. These factors are directly related to efficiency how colleges and universities spend their allocated funds from the state budget. The aim of this paper is to determine the extent which universities are able to evaluate their resources to help graduates to succeed in the labour market. The analysis is made for public universities and colleges in the Czech Republic for the year 2015. Data envelopment analysis (DEA) is used for the evaluation of efficiency, specifically inputoriented model based on the benchmarking of inputs and outputs. The results are compared with the overall index of satisfaction of graduates. The results show efficiency counted by mainly financial variables does not give same results as the opinion of graduated students represented by overall index of graduates.
