Emotional Control in Mothers of Autistic Children Experiencing their Husband’s Migration

Abstract:

The purpose of this article is to determine the level of emotional control of mothers of autistic children experiencing their husband’s migration. The research used the diagnostic survey method, an authored questionnaire and the Courtauld Emotional Control Scale (CECS) by M. Watson and S. Greer, adapted by Z. Juczyński. The study included 32 mothers of children with autism who experienced their husband’s migration - the primary group, while the comparative group comprised 48 mothers of children with autism who did not experience their husband’s migration. The results show that mothers of autistic children who experience their husband’s migration are less likely to express their emotions and instead suppress them compared to mothers of autistic children who do not experience their husband’s migration.
