Emotional Intelligence in the Modern Management

Abstract:

The paper discusses theoretical aspects of such phenomenon as emotional intelligence or emotional quotient and its value in the modern companies’ management. There is emotional intelligence appearance in the Fourth Industrial Revolution, economics of future and updated requirements for professional skills in 2020. The paper notices different views on emotional intelligence considered by the most popular authors of this subject. Practical aspect comprises surveys about changes in a company profit margin depending on levels of top-managers’ emotional intelligence. Also some productive practices of introducing emotional intelligence into companies’ activity. The paper contains the research among bachelor and master-degree students of Institute of Economics and Management (National Research Tomsk State University), the major of all students is management. There is a substantiated position “for” the introduction of emotional literacy courses in the university curricula.
