Abstract:
In recent years, the fusion between the theories of emotions and digital technologies has emerged strongly in the psychological studies panorama. The purpose of this article is to trace the theoretical precedents to the study of the construct of emotions in relation to digital media. Contemporary experiments and investigations (2010-2020) have led to the emergence of a new theoretical paradigm: the digital emotion experience. Starting from emotional regulation and the mediation produced by digital technologies, the digital emotion theory represents a collective that contains different theoretical experiences. We try to take stock of what has been scientifically produced up to now and what prospects for future research can be advanced.
