Abstract:
Employee engagement has become a hot topic in recent years. Despite this, there remains a paucity of academic literature on the concept. Although there is a great deal of interest in engagement, there is also a good deal of confusion. At present, there is no consistency in definition, with engagement having been operational zed and measured in many disparate ways. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to provide preliminary information needed to begin theoretical or framework development and to encourage more rigorous research on the concept of employee engagement. It would help researchers, academicians, and practitioners to take a closer look at the findings and would provide a guideline for future research in employee engagement. The study consists of a systematic review of 17-refereed empirical articles on employee engagement.
