Employee Retention amongst Millennial in Government Link Company in Malaysia

Abstract:

Millennial have taken up about 40 to 50 percent of the workforce in Malaysia. That explains how important millennial in the human capital development.  It has also become one of the drivers of productivity and sustainable economic growth of a nation.  Thus, to retain millennial as employee should be the main strategy of human resource department in any organization.  This research was a case of study in one of the government link companies in Malaysia and aimed to examine the factors that influence the employee retention amongst millennial.  The predictors such as compensation and benefit, training and development as well as work environment were investigated to see whether they contributed to the employee retention.  About 130 samples were collected through self-administered survey questionnaires.  The results showed that the three variables were significant and positively related to employee retention.
