Abstract:
Income inequality deepening from recent decades can lead to significant income gains and wealth for those still in the top gains and lower revenues for most members of society. I think it is necessary to ask whether this trend is compatible with values rooted in our nation's history or declared values of the European Union. The declaration of good intentions regarding equality remains just a document if policymakers do not take firm actions to stimulate the activity of each individual in relation to its potential. Unfortunately, one of the serious consequences of increasing inequality of income is that increasingly more young people face a world full of uncertainty and anxiety instead of starting on a journey full of promises that besides risks there are also sources of hope(OECD, 2014). Aspirations for higher income, the chance of a professional career and family relative independence (being alone, or without children) makes them more open to the jobs available abroad, if they fulfill expectations. The present paper aims to highlight the effects of income inequality experienced by employees and over 350 companies and public institutions in Bucharest
