Abstract:
All over the world, the satisfaction of employees in an organisation through work flexibility for career advancement is vital to organisational sustainability. It recognises the strategy of motivating the corporate workforce for improved performance by managers of public and private organisations in their desire to stay relevant and achieve the stated organisational goals and objectives. However, in the Nigerian public service, there have been unresolved issues of employees’ dissatisfaction in the area of work flexibility for career advancement. Therefore, this study, through conceptual review, examined the influence of work flexibility for career advancement of employees’ performance within the public service in Nigeria. The study concluded that were employees in the Nigerian public service failed to experience work flexibility for career advancement, they are not likely to put in their best into their assignments to achieve the organisation’s desire for improved performance.
