Abstract:

This paper aims to highlight issues facing youth in the labour market given the current economic crisis, demographic trends and different (comparing to the rest of the population) social characteristics of youth. Unemployment is undoubtedly the most important issue affecting the young population. There are, however, other aspects to be analyzed to provide a more complete picture of the situation of this segment of the population on the labour market. We refer, without limiting the possibility of extending the problems, to issues such as inactivity, underemployment, temporary employment, length of unemployment. For addressing the youth each of these situations requires different approaches than for total population.
