Abstract:
Engagement has emerged as a fundamental pillar in human resources management, and its impact on employee happiness is increasingly recognized. The objective of the study was to establish the influence of work engagement on happiness at work in the provincial municipality of Apurimac, based on a quantitative research approach, and non-experimental cross-sectional explanatory design with SEM equations, with a sample of 136 workers, applying the questionnaire as an instrument for data collection. The results show that there is an influence of the vigor or energy and absorption dimensions of work engagement on employee happiness. The results of the theoretical model were accepted because the RMSEA and SRMR values are very close to zero, the CFI =0.981, Chi-square (X^2)= 82, and (df)=59. It was also found that between Vigor and Dedication there is a relationship β=0.83, between Vigor and Absorption there is a relationship of β=0.75 and between Dedication and Absorption there is a relationship of β=0.77, existing a high relationship between these variables. Likewise, the variable Vigor influences with β=0.30 on happiness at work (FT), the variable Dedication influences with β=0.11 on FT, and Absorption has a negative influence with β=-0.07 on FT. Affirming that as soon as work engagement improves, the happiness of the human talent of the employee of the provincial municipality of Abancay, Apurimac, will be strengthened. Work engagement, which encompasses dedication, vigor and absorption, are key to fostering happiness at work. Dedicated employees experience a sense of purpose, while vigor helps them face challenges. Although the relationship between absorption and happiness may vary, comprehensive engagement often results in greater happiness at work.
