Abstract:
With the advent of globalization, business arena is getting smaller and competition among organizations is getting stiffer. Knowledge has been widely acknowledged as the key input element for organizations to sustain and grow. Typically, it has been highly emphasized through the adoption of Knowledge Management (KM). In order to prevent from lacking the knowledge to pursue any innovation efforts, organizations have to ensure that their people are always knowledgeable. In regard to this, it is thus crucial for organization to enhance KM via Organizational Learning (OL). The major aim of this study is to identify and explore several Organizational Learning Mechanisms (OLMs). Its originality derived from the classification of OLMs based on several management processes, including planning and controlling, with the major focus given to staffing or HRM. The study is significant as its findings are able to enhance the corpus of KM. Its contribution is therefore able to serve as reference of OLMs for organizations as a whole, including small and large organizations as well as governmental agencies. Last but not least, the findings would serve as a good foundation for future researchers to carry out empirical studies.
