Abstract:
Indian Pharma Industry is the second largest Industry when it comes to exports, next to Information Technology. With this continued high growth over last 3 to 4 decades, there was a tremendous need of getting the right talent for the Industry which is highly regulated by rules and guidelines. In this scenario, where there was a high skew towards the talent demand, the industry was reeling under a dichotomy of “Build Vs Buy” talent. When some the pharma companies went by the conventional way of pulling trained people from other companies, an Indian pharma major decided to do it differently. The philosophy was - catch them young, train them to your requirement, develop them for future through continuous learning, turn them into a highly engaged work force, set standards on efficiency in operations.
