Abstract:
Most Fortune 500 companies have completed implementations of an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software system. A Fortune 500 company can easily exceed costs of $100 million for an ERP implementation including costs for software and licensing fees, hardware and consulting costs. While significant costs will still be incurred for upgrades and maintenance on an on-going basis, the growth going forward will be with the small and medium companies. ERP implementation in small and medium size companies, and additional issues to consider for the health care industry are discussed as well.
