Entrepreneurial Intention of Former Indonesian Migrant Workers: The Role and Effect of Entrepreneurial Self-efficacy, Orientation and Attitude

Abstract:

Entrepreneurial activities are important for a nation, because it drives economic wheel, reduces unemployment and increases the country's competitiveness. Several data such as entrepreneurship ratio and GEDI show that Indonesia is still left behind the other countries. Returned Indonesian Migrant Worker is one of the potential entrepreneurs. This study tries to examine their entrepreneurial intentions, which influenced by entrepreneurial self-efficacy, entrepreneurial orientation and attitude toward entrepreneurship. This research using questionnaire which analyzed by structural equation modeling (SEM). The results show that self-efficacy has a positive and significant direct effect on entrepreneurial intention. Attitude toward entrepreneurship could mediate their positive linkage, whereas EO didn’t. Therefore, only two from three hypothesis are supported
