Abstract:
The premise from which we start our research addresses the effects induced by the evolution of the number of entrepreneurs in agriculture on the development of rural space. From the point of view of the potential of endogenous development in the territorial aspect, the activity in agriculture, as a factor of post-crisis recovery of the Romanian economy, is of crucial importance. Our research attempts to address the development of agriculture at regional level, first from the theoretical and methodological perspective, based on the main theories and models of economic growth, taking into account the trends and peculiarities of the economic evolution of Romania's counties in 2008 -2017. Of the total number of people employed in 2017, 682,000 people (7.9%) worked part-time, out of which 83.8% worked in the agricultural sector. Of the total employed, 22.8% worked in the agricultural sector, 30.1% in industry or construction and 47.1% in services. Non-agricultural activities accounted for 6.69 million people, with significant shares being held by those operating in the manufacturing (24.9%), trade (18.0%) and construction (10.4%).
