Abstract:

This article presents the state of knowledge in the field of entrepreneurship development in the North-East region; furthermore, indicators of newly created active enterprises in the North-East Region of Romania are evaluated and the evolution of entrepreneurship development in the selected region is studied, through the indicators analysed in the period of 2007-2017. This paper is based on scientific research methods, such as literature review analysis and exploratory research conducted from secondary sources, respectively online accessed data provided by the National Institute of Statistics. The contributions of the article consist of the presentation of the key elements of entrepreneurship and of the link between entrepreneurship and sustainable development, as well as the presentation of the indicators that contribute to the description of the evolution of entrepreneurship in the North-East region. Moreover, the paper offers perspectives for future research in the field of entrepreneurship.
