Environmental Policy of Mining and Quarrying Enterprises in the Czech Republic

Abstract:

Environmental policy is defined at the international level, at the level of localities (states) but above all for the sphere of businesses that have a great impact on environmental pollution. Most businesses are aware of their negative impact and therefore introduce environmental policy into their strategies. Even though the company does not have an established environmental policy (exceptional cases), it is subject to the State Environmental Policy of the Czech Republic, which means that it must comply with the appropriate prohibitions. A suitable example of such enterprises is the mining and quarrying industry (CZ NACE 05-09). Here are mining activities - black and brown coal (air emissions), destruction of the country and occupation of the area (quarries), handling of the mining waste (floods on the surface), contamination of groundwater and the emergence of brownfields.

Under environmental policy, companies use different approaches, principles, principles, and tools, but there is no methodological guide to managing their environmental policy. Therefore, the objective of the case study is to assess the current state of the environmental policy of enterprises in the mining sector and extraction (CZ NACE 05-09) in the Czech Republic and to suggest possible approaches that will serve to effectively manage the environmental policy of these enterprises.
