Environmental Workplace Behaviors in Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises: The Students’s Perspective

Abstract:

The present study deals with the problem of evaluation of employee behaviors in the workplace. The basic aim was to check whether in the sector of small and medium-sized enterprises there occur behaviors qualifying as counter-ecological. The article is of the empirical character. The respondents in the sample (working students) are educated groups compared to the general level of education in the country. Their insights could help to formulate effective initiatives to perfect the sphere related to environmental protection in the workplace. The conducted research indicates that in SMEs there appear a series of counter-ecological behaviors. The results show that there are differences between factors influencing pro-environmental behaviour in the workplace. Small and medium-sized enterprises should pay special attention to effectively functioning system of control.
