Abstract:
Environmental safety is socio-natural and scientific reality and the object of study in different scientific fields (natural sciences, social sciences, law, and others) since it embraces a complex set of relationships between the man and the natural environment. Recently, the principle of introducing the younger generation to the origins of their national cultures from an early age in schools and within the family has not been fully implemented: children have poor knowledge of national proverbs and sayings, fairy tales, epics, traditions and customs. The role of the teacher is to educate students about the cultures of all peoples inhabiting the region, which will help to form various scientific concepts. In order to increase the level of environmental safety knowledge, lessons on life safety fundamentals using ethnic material were given to the students of the experimental group. The work attempted to acquaint the students with the rituals, traditions, fairy tales, legends, songs of all peoples living on the territory of the region in order to facilitate students’ scientific concept formation in the domains of ecology and environmental safety. The study showed that positive dynamics regarding the formation of environmental safety knowledge was observed in the experimental group compared to the control group.
