Abstract:
The article is devoted to the problem of preservation of ethnic cultures at the present stage of globalization, which is characterized by a complex and controversial nature. Gaining relative independence from borders and distances, having an opportunity to use the world resources, global infrastructures and cultural universal achievements at the same time, people faced the threat of losing their identity. It can be overcome only by preserving the ethnic identity, which is the core of the national mentality and includesthe knowledge of a native language, customs and traditions, standards and values of people. It is possible only taking into an account the dialectical interaction of globalization and localization in specific areas of human activity.
