European Forest Areas Management

Abstract:

Future generations will be able to meet their life and living needs by applying proper forest management. Decreasing the vegetation period is an effect of global warming. Tree health is also affected by the increasing acid rainfall. Deforestation leads to the decrease of the areas occupied by forests. For this reason, the article presents an analysis of the area of forested land for the European Union. Protecting forests can lead to improved human health. The importance offered by this function is also highlighted by the evolution of the forest surfaces, as well as of other forested lands, which fulfill the protective function. Also, cutting down forests is an additional pressure that leads to global warming. Thus, the article presents a situation of industrial roundwood removals as well as roundwood production.
