Abstract:
The concept of intelligent and friendly cities, using modern social, technological, and information and communication solutions, opens new opportunities for creating urban environments that support ageing societies, both in European Union countries and globally. The main aim of this paper is to present an analysis of the capitals of European Union countries that implement or improve solutions promoting a dignified life for older people. The analysis and ranking of these capitals make it possible to identify good practices, determine development directions, and draw important conclusions for planning the development of other cities in the European Union as well as globally.
