Abstract:
Lean management is one of the most popular methods of business management. This is because the concept allows the implementation of such solutions that will contribute to the elimination, or significant reduction, of basic forms of waste. Lean management methods and tools were initially used in manufacturing companies. Nowadays, they are increasingly used also by service organizations, especially those operating in such industries as transportation or logistics. The problems of the article focus on assessing the practical usefulness of lean management methods and tools in the process of managing the DHL Parcel Sp. z o.o. sorting plant. The purpose of the research carried out is also to determine the areas that require the implementation of improvements. Therefore, the research problem of the paper was given the following wording: what is the practical usefulness of individual tools and methods of lean management in the opinion of the employees of the studied enterprise?
