Abstract:
The purpose of the article is to assess the impact of scientific activity of individual countries in the world on their economic security. Methods of research: index method, ranking, cluster analysis and development of regression models. The research of dependence of economic security of a country on the level of science development includes the following stages: calculation of the science development index; determination of groups of countries depending on the level of science development; modeling of economic security depending on the level of science development of a country. In the work based on the development of regression models the hypothesis about the influence of scientific developments on the indices of economic security is confirmed. The calculation of index of scientific developments of the countries of the world was carried out which is a complex index and includes evaluation of scientific potential, results of scientific activity and evaluation of growth rates of scientific activity and potential for 72 countries of the world. This allowed ranking countries by the level of their scientific development and grouping them by scientific results and scientific potential. Three groups of countries were identified: catching-up countries by the level of science development, potential leaders of science development and leaders by the level of science development. Economic security indicators were modeled according to the level of scientific development of the groups of countries. The models developed allow forecasting the values of economic security indicators depending on the management of scientific developments in the country.
