Abstract:
Information technology (IT) and information systems (IS) are an important economic factor for the healthcare sector and make a significant contribution to the improvement of products and services provided to patients. To remain competitive in the long term, companies from the healthcare industry are forced to permanently invest in new IT/IS systems. Therefore, this re-search discusses critical success factors and their interrelationships in relation to the implemen-tation of IT/IS projects in the healthcare sector. Here, one focus of this study is the identification of general research for the investigation of critical success factors for the IT/IS implementations in the healthcare sector and the analysis of their findings and conclusions. As a result of this research it can be stated that human errors and the complexity of the project are the main chal-lenges in the implementation of IT/IS projects.
