Abstract:
The article indicates that human resource decisions (HRD) are one of the most critical tasks of the modern manager. HRD refer to the human resources in the organization and aims at shaping the desired job-related behavior of employees to carry out organizational tasks efficiently. Due to that fact, in human resources (HR) literature, there is a growing interest in how to make more efficient decisions, and rationality is one of its indicators. The first part of the article explains models of decision making, elements, and connections between them, pointing at those who are essential from the rationality point of view. Next, the notion of rationality in the context of HRD is explained. On this basis, the rationality model of HRD is proposed with factors which should be analyzed before making any of HR decision.
