Examination Of The Features Of Character In A Cybernetic Approach As Condition Of Knowing The Causes Of Human Behavior

Abstract:

Cybernetics is most often associated with robotics, but as a control science it is also useful in management. It introduces to this discipline the knowledge of human characters and motivations behind the decisions made by different people because of the interests they represent. Knowing what character we are dealing with, we are able to predict the behavior of a given person and entrust them with tasks, which they will perform in an optimal way. And it is possible thanks to the cybernetic character theory developed by prof. M. Mazura (1976). It is worth mentioning that the Polish cybernetics school created by M. Mazur is an achievement on a global scale. Including the theory of the autonomous control system (which is a human), which is distinguished by the ability to self-control in a specific range of pressures from the environment. This work is an attempt to use the cybernetic character theory of Mazur to identify the character classes of the surveyed employees. Design/methodology: The research procedure presented in the article was carried out in August-October 2021 on a group of 11 middle-level management employees, in a coded manner in a construction industry company. Originality/value: The value of the work is an interdisciplinary approach to the issue of researching the causes of human behavior in organizational conditions. The work uses an innovative approach, using the information entropy of C.A. Shannon to research the human source of information. The concept presented in the work can be used as a tool to learn about the causes of human behavior in an organization. The proposed solution may support human resources management in the context of the proper allocation of employees and the representation of an adequate function in relation to rigid character parameters (dynamism, susceptibility, tolerance).
