Abstract:
Internet websites are the most significant gateways for information access and dissemination, and they are built to achieve predefined objectives set by their owners. Some businesses build their websites to execute their core business operations totally or partially, and this depends on their business structure, nature, and environment. Website usability can play a part in business success or failure because it has become a critical factor in website design. It can also heavily influence user satisfaction and website quality. This paper provides a set of usability factors and determines the importance of those factors in website design from the perspectives of Saudi users. It presents a number of interesting findings, such as security, speed and data protection are still on the top of Saudi Internet users’ priorities. This research also reveals that there are strong relationships between the usability factors. This paper concludes with a number of results and further work that could be undertaken in this area.
