Abstract:

The paper intends to explore the role commitment in the relationship between strategic roles of middle manager and the effectiveness of strategy implementation of Islamic Banking in Indonesia. There have been many deliberations over the last decade on the role of middle managers and their commitment towards the effectiveness of strategic implementation, but this situation has attracted little academic attention. Therefore, this study provides critical review on the elements of strategic roles among the middle managers that become the primary determinants of role commitment which eventually may lead to the effectiveness of strategic implementation. This study adds to present literature by elaborating conceptually on the linkages between strategic role and role commitment of middle managers and the effectiveness of strategic implementation in Indonesian Islamic Banking.
