Expatriates X and Y-the Role of Age in Adjustment

Abstract:

As a result of the growing opportunities created by new technologies, shaping intellectual capital as a source of competitive advantage, as well as the need to operate in conditions of constant change, proper design, implementation and implementation of the adaptation process has become one of the most important challenges that modern organizations have to face. Multinationals are increasingly reporting a demand for multinational workers who work effectively across different latitudes. Therefore, organizations decide to hire expatriates - high-class specialists or managers. The age of expats was commonly used in research as a control variable, and in few research studies it was treated as a potential predictor influencing the course of foreign missions. However, the primary purpose of this pilot was not to attempt prove or to answer the question the impact of age on the adaptation process, but to present the results of the pilot study, which was aimed at verifying the applied research tool.
