Expeditionary Risk Management Concept

Abstract:

The purpose of the article is to present sources and methods of risk management in the area of expedition projects. The specificity of this type of projects requires a modified approach to risk management compared to classic ventures. Risk not only affects the success / failure of an expedition project, but can also have a negative impact on the health and life of participants. This is due to the uniqueness of the planned goal, but also to the organizational and interpersonal complexity as well as the dynamically changing event scene. Planning individual operations is not always possible beforehand, and often decisions are made instantly, at the project site in extreme circumstances. In such conditions, proper identification, minimization of effects and monitoring of potential threats is difficult and requires the use of appropriately selected tools.
