Explaining Causal Relationship for Novice Qualitative Researcher

Abstract:

Human interactions evolve around complex information processing (Nguyen & McGuirk, 2022). This is because the interaction is the collective back-and-forth sequences of action and reaction between individuals or between an individual and something else (Saldana, 2015). Therefore, when doing research about human interactions, from a behavioural perspective, one needs to examine a causal process of information scanning, interpretation, and action (Brown, Colville, & Pye, 2014). Since the process is complex (Lakshman, 2008), a researcher could rely on a theory to frame a research project as well as conduct data analysis. For example, Sensemaking Theory.
