Abstract:
Introduction: The growing demand for surgical services and the limited availability of hospital beds in Santander pose an operational and financial challenge for IPS FOSCAL. In this context, outpatient knee and hip arthroplasty emerges as a strategic alternative to reduce hospital congestion, maintain clinical safety, and optimize available economic resources.
Objective: To evaluate the clinical, economic, and operational feasibility of outpatient lower limb arthroplasty at IPS FOSCAL during 2025, considering the effectiveness of telephone follow-up, financial sustainability, and the implementation of a standardized clinical protocol.
