Exploring the Information Needs of Women Entrepreneurs in Beauty-Related Business

Abstract:

This  paper  reports  the  findings  of  a  research  that investigates  the  information  needs  of  women  entrepreneurs focused  in  beauty-related  business  in  the  Klang  Valley  of Malaysia.  In  this  qualitative  study,  two  groups  of  respondents were chosen to be interviewed. They first group were ten women entrepreneurs who had already set up their business on beauty-related  products  and  services  while  the  other  groups  were  ten potential  women  entrepreneurs  who  had  the  intention  of  doing the  same  kind  of  business.  The  findings  revealed  the  various types of beauty-related business information they needed, when they needed the information and the source of information they used. The findings are useful to women entrepreneurs and those who  aspire  to  be  one,  business  agencies  and  the  Ministries  that are  related  to  women  development  and  entrepreneurship. Suggestions  are  offered  to  related  bodies  involved  in  women entrepreneurship
