Abstract:

The article discusses potential use of the OLSR (Optimized Link State Routing) protocol for network steganography, which consists of hiding confidential data in Internet packages in order to ensure safe communication. The authors explore possibilities and limitations of steganography using OLSR. According to research results, the OLSR steganography may potentially ensure efficient and safe non-public communication; however, there are challenges associated with reliability and capacity of the method that must be faced. The purpose of the research is proposing a steganographic method that would be possible to implement and indicating the further direction of development of steganographic methods based on the OLSR protocol.
