Exploring the Role of Social Media in Higher Education. A Case Study

Abstract:

Social networks are a continuously moving target for students and researchers from different countries and domains. Nowadays, several social networks exist, such as Facebook, Windows Live Spaces, LinkedIn, Wikipedia, Dailymotion, OpenID, MySpace, YouTube, Vimeo, Twitter, which have attracted a lot of users, many of whom verify and access them every day. Students are no longer an exception, as they are one of the categories that utilize social media often (Iordache, 2014). In our days, social networks perpetually impact the lives of youthful individuals. Apart from amusement and informative objectives, social networks have entered into lots of areas of academic procedures and pedagogic techniques (Zachos, Paraskevopoulou-Kollia, & Anagnostopoulos, 2018). The phenomenon of social media entrances also appeared in the higher education background.
