Abstract:
Knowledge sharing is an important component of knowledge management practice that could lead to improvement in organization performance. Thus, knowledge sharing should be instilled during college years, prior to joining the workforce. However, there is limited understanding on the knowledge sharing behavior among tertiary level students. This research attempts to investigate the factors affecting knowledge sharing among undergraduate students in a public university in Malaysia. A questionnaire pertaining to knowledge sharing behavior, personal attitudes and technological factors was administered to 313 students. All respondents scored above average in both personal and technological factors. Knowledge sharing was found to be significantly related to all components under study i.e. self efficacy, trust, technological availability, and perceived usefulness of technology. Personal attitudes and technological factors may act as determinants of knowledge sharing among university students in University of Technology Mara (UiTM), Shah Alam, Malaysia.
