Fair Trade Development and Environment for Brocade in Vietnam

Abstract:

Fair Trade is a form of commerce, which is based on transparency, partnership and mutual respect towards sustainable development by creating favorable conditions for marginalized producers . Fair Trade focuses on human factors with the aim of poverty reduction and sustainable development. Sustainability includes 4 common principles, which are based on real experiences of fair trade organizations and diversified relations.

With characteristics of brocade, Fair Trade development for brocade has great meaning for the ethnic minorities in order to develop socioeconomics for local areas in sustainable ways in Vietnam. Factors affecting the development of Fair Trade brocade are : factors related to production; the trade organization; infrastructure for development of brocade; the legal and policy framework for the development of Fair Trade brocade.

To develop Fair Trade brocade in Vietnam needs to i) Make use of available resources in the local area; ii) Associate with community tourism to diversify income sources for the local people; iii) Ensure the rights of producers; iv) Develop production associated with environmental factors and v) Participate in the existing Fair Trade organizations.
