Finding Fault with Facebook: A Case study

Abstract:

With the ubiquity of mobile computing devices as well as the constant dissemination of information through social networking sites, users can share every detail of their lives with the world in seconds. Facebook (FB) is presently the most known and used of the social networking sites. Currently there are huge numbers of Facebook users and those users have a pressing need to be the first to share news or post pictures of events. As such, much conventional wisdom concerning privacy seems to be under challenge. Users seem unaware or unwilling to accept the concept of privacy whether it be their own right to privacy, or the rights of others to privacy. At this time cases arise where written or visual information is disseminated which violate privacy rights.
