Food Security in the Economic Security System: General Legal Framework

Abstract:

This article deals with the study of issues regarding the role and importance of food security in the state's economic and national security system. It is noted that the Russian Federation didn't have the theory of national security until the 1990s in contrast to the Western European and North American states, which have had the concept of national security for than 200 years. Having analyzed international and national documents in this area the authors note that currently the legal regulation of food security at the international level is carried out within the framework of the UN sustainable development goals, within which the concepts of nourishment security and food security are combined. These trends are also characteristic of the domestic legal system. The main task of the current period in this area is to develop a special regulatory act in the field of legal support for food security.
