Food System Influence in Agricultural Production on the Environment in the Czech Republic

Abstract:

The article is focused on the analysis of environmental impacts of the food system in the area of agricultural production. The food system is defined here as a term encompassing raw materials, processes and infrastructure related to agriculture, trade, transport and consumption of food products and is an important part of the state’s economy. Agriculture is the largest producer of food and feed through targeted plant and animal husbandry and non-renewable environmental components. At the same time, agriculture is one of the sectors most affected by climate change. The article focuses on soil, water, air and species diversity, which are inextricably linked to agricultural and food production.
