Abstract:

Based on a descriptive case study, this research compares and contrasts ERP implementation experiences in two case organizations, one local and the other global, in the UAE context. The findings reveal that contemporary ERP implementations do not necessarily follow traditional ERP frameworks’ perspectives or predications. While deeper investigation is needed to understand complex ERP implementation issues involved, these unexpected insights could provide practice lessons for ERP implementation in the local setting and research venues for future empirical studies.
