Abstract:
The present paper proposes to examine the link between the volume of consumption (the average consumption per capita in kg / capita / year is included) and the related average price expressed in euro / kg, domestic household income expressed in lei/household and the total number of households in Romania. Between these economic variables there is a powerful link. Using statistical data, this link is expressed through an econometric model, taking into account the fact that a positive growth of household income determines an increase in the same direction of fruit consumption. It also taken into account that the average price increase will cause a change in the opposite direction in fruit consumption.
Approach to this topic starts from the changes regarding the orientation towards a balanced food consumption that contributes to maintaining health of the body which calls for the food consumption of fruit. It is known that the most common nutritional disorder in the world are due mainly to a diet low in vitamins and minerals, these gaps are assigned to a primary factor which is a low in fruit nutrition.
