Abstract:

The article reveals the parameters of gender inequality among older people in the regions of the Siberia (Russia). We have identified the domains of active ageing contributing to gender gap, namely, employment and independent and secure living, as well as domains with virtually no gender gap, namely, participation in society and enabling environment for active ageing. The results provide insights on the potential of bridging the gender gap between older adults.
