Abstract:
Due to some accidents or unpleasant events happened in the agri-food industry, in the last year were important changes in regulations and standards that are applicable in tis domain. Ones of the consequences generated by these changes are related to traceability and food traceability systems. This paper will present (a) an overview of the food safety most important issues, (b) a proposed architecture of food supply chain systems. Conclusions and future directions of the research are discussed.
