Getting Knowledge Measured, Getting Knowledge Managed

Abstract:

Knowledge management has been increasing recognized by organizations as strategic source that hinges on innovation and creativity, as such sustains organizational competitiveness [1, 16].  In general, there is no lack of literature discussing knowledge attributes and various knowledge management processes [9].  Yet, in practice, many organizations realize voids in configuring a measurement to gauge the progress of their KM programs [11].  Therefore, this study is motivated to fill up such voids by developing a sensible measurement instrument of KM, in particular to address the two fundamental elements, knowledge and knowledge creation.  The development stages, tasks and deliverables are summarized as such management can obtain insights on what and how to work out a KM assessment.
