Global Trends in The Steel Industry

Abstract:

The relevance of the study is confirmed by the fact that the representatives of the world steel Association came to the conclusion that for the first time since the crisis of 2009, the volume of production of metallurgical products in the world began to fall. The reason was the overproduction, the growth of China's export activity, the strengthening of protection of domestic markets of a number of countries from imports of foreign products. Another characteristic feature of the current state of metallurgy is the global decline in commodity markets. The purpose of this study is to assess the dynamics of the metallurgical industry in different countries of the world. To achieve this goal the following tasks were solved: identify the factors of decline in steel production; to study the activities of existing enterprises of metallurgical production in Russia; to present indicators of production of the main types of products of metallurgical production in Russia. The methodological basis of the research is the methods of system analysis, comparison and analogy, logical and semantic modeling. These methods are used as a theoretical basis in the works of domestic and foreign scientists in the planning, production and extraction of iron ore. Sources of information are economic and other special literature, articles from periodicals, research results and experience of leading foreign companies. The results of this study are the conclusions based on the assessment of the dynamics of the metallurgical industry in different countries of the world.Â
